"A simple online role playing game with lots of personality"
Perhaps because of the major influence that many famous fantasy role playing games have had, almost always in a Medieval or similar fantasy universe, with 3D graphics and where your character choices are usually humans, elves or orcs, we tend to think that all role playing games are created with those same traits, but this isn’t necessarily true. The game MapleStory, for instance, is an example of a very different online role playing game with lots of personality.
MapleStory isn’t just another RPG. As simple as the graphics might look, you could easily get lost in the thousands of different options it gives you. The game retains the fantasy element but in a wide variety of settings that go far beyond the typical Medieval-fantasy environment. And as far as the graphics go, the game is played in 2D, and the character art is more similar to Japanese animation than your average fantasy role playing game.
MapleStory also stands out because of how simple it is to learn, play, and interact with other players online. Once you create your character, you will be given some introductory missions in the game that serve as a hands-on tutorial, after which you can dive in and fight with your friends against hundreds of different creatures.
